This chapter concerns the history of homosexual relationships in the neighborhood described previously. The author connects the current relationships to a colonial-era golf course bordering the neighborhood. Golf allowed for relationships to develop between white men and their African caddies and formed a basis for contemporary online relationships. From here the author explores the erotics of sex with a white man from an African perspective. It is argued that what is erotic about the situation is the power reversal of colonial history. Further, African men act as para-ethnographers, creating their own local analyses of white homosexuality in order to seduce and find Western partners.
