    The conclusion considers what the efforts of Sinhalese songwriters and poets can articulate about common frameworks and theories encountered in scholarship found in the disciplines of South Asian Studies and ethnomusicology. It then attempts to identify shortcomings of the monograph. Finally, it describes three academic projects to which the book seeks to contribute.
